I didn't say I can't Cook, I just don't wanna. Today's my F&N Practical Exam, no sh*t. I did spend the first 15 minutes at a loss. Totally Clueless of what to do. My time plans were rendered useless and i had to do some last minute adjustments. Some ingredients were replaced with others, which left my Pasta dry (but not tasteless though...it's good!). As of now, I have yet to try the fish. It's in the fridge now, waiting to be reheated.
Looks Good, eh?

Change of Season.
Well, I've autumnised the blog. Rather warm looking. Blue Skies still exist, but I'd like to stick with this for a while.
I'm also finding a background randomiser that the layman can use. Pretty complicated stuff.
It's a new Blog theme and Where have all the Butterflies Gone?

Day6482I showed myself incapable of beating Level 9 in Tetris in hOP #27. I would like to declare this false.
I am able to do so and one should not take comic strips so seriously.I decided to grab my DS and go Tetris myself silly. Did the Marathon. 1, 2, 5, 10, 13 then I got to Level 16. Checked the Score, Whoa. I've never got over 200,000 points in Tetris before, not even past 150,000. So this, I believe, is an Achievement.
Tetris DS: Marathon - Level 16. Score: 206447 with 156 Lines. w00t.

Redmond vs. Cupertino
The Following is a Rant that
This started when I was reading an Article at PCWorld.com, reporting Microsoft releasing its Vista Beta 2. So I'm here expressing my views on the OS wars. Here's the lowdown for Vista:
Being "Vista-Capable"
We all know that some Powered-for-XP PCs may be incapable of performing as well as PCs geared up for Vista. So one might need to cough up cash to tune up or just get another PC altogether. "Low-end PCs running Vista Home Basic or Vista Starter editions will run a less glamorous Basic interface." As a consumer buying an OS for it's looks and sleekness, I wouldn't want to spend extra cash on a new graphics card just to have them.
Spoilt for Choice
What's the deal with the six core versions of Vista? Starter, Home Basic, Home Premium, Ultimate; Business and Enterprise. I've used XP Pro and XP Home; no major differences there. I just don't see the point. Why?
Delays, Delays, Delays. Geez. I was really expecting Vista (then Codenamed Longhorn) to be the coolest thing ever, until my PC crashed and I couldn't wait any longer. I picked up a Mac. Though, not entirely true and based on my speculation, I always say that half or even two-thirds of Windows Vista is already in Mac OS X. Which brings me to my conclusion...
Macs have their OSes in-built. Mac OS only comes in one flavour, for ALL. Mac OS X, in a course of 7 years, have come up with 4 major upgrades, in Versional Numerical order (i.e. 10.0, 10.1, 10.2...), and Mac OS 10.5 (Leopard) is due early 2007, promising better features and all, including Boot Camp, enabling Windows OS to be run on an Intel-Mac, bringing the gap closer.
Now You Decide. I'm not saying that Windows is Bad, I just saying Mac OS is Better.
It Begins...
Day6481Well, the June Vacation has officially begun. Not much of a vacation though. I got a @#%&! 2.5 Weeks of Classes to attend. Geez. I need time to do my June shopping! I gotta get me Liberty Meadows 3 and 4!
I've been wanting to do a shirt since June of 2003, but I haven't got down to doing it. Distractions. I find self-advertising very important, but I don't like to force my URL down people's throats. I actually glad I dragged it this long, because I didn't have hOP in 2003, so I can now plaster the guys on a shirt. I have a few in-my-mind projects I want to do in June, while the weight of Exams are slightly lighter. Don't plan on slacking. That's Suicide.
I might get down to do more Strips, or maybe draw another Sonic Fanart (yeah, I did that)... Sigh...
I'm listening to Clay Aiken's "Invisible" right now and it hit me that the American Idols winners, runner-ups or finalists are tagged as one-hit wonders. I mean it's been a while since one of the Idols made a new song. I don't see the point anymore. Reality TV is losing it's grip. It's so 2004. I like Simon Cowell but that's it. Frankly, I only saw the Auditions and the Idol Finale. B-o-r-i-n-g. and Don't get me started on Singapore Idol...whoa, no.
Friday, May 26, 2006...
I R named Sands.
Well, we got a winner on American Idol yesterday (Taylor "Soul Patrol" Hicks) and we got a winner today. Las Vegas Sands has struck a deal with us (because I don't know who's behind the Singapore IR Project), to build an Integrated Resort *coughcasinocough* here in Marina Bay. I hope they come up with something original, I see they have 2 Venetian Hotels already.
Enough.
I gotta change my Liquid Bath, I having strange problems on my palms that I shall spare you the details about... Ugh...

Creative and Apple: This means War!
Day6472Headlines: Tuesday. "Creative Files US Suit, trade Complaint against Apple" (The Straits Times, 16/05/06)
Here's the story... Singapore (i.e. Local) Company Creative Technologies, part of the mp3 player wars with a handful of Zens and NOMADs is suing Apple in US for infringing Patents that Creative holds for the invention of the menus we see so prominently on mp3 players, including the crowd favourite, the iPod. This move threatens to halt all sales of iPods in the US.
Headlines: Friday: "Apple sues Creative over patents" (bloomberg News/macNN, 19/05/06)
A turn of events, so it seems. That very Monday (in the US, when we turned Tuesday), Apple filed a lawsuit against Creative in Wisconsin, alleging that they infringed four of their patents. Discussions are on the way...
While being totally confused over what's fighting what, I will say this...
The Tussle Continues. Will not Take Sides. But Take a Bite of the Apple and the Apple bites Back. I'm holdin' on to ma iPod...

DeciSions
Like I've mentioned countless of times, 2006 is a great year for gaming.
Here's my DS list of games to get, both past and current, because I already have got of them:
- Mario Kart DS (10.0)
- Sonic Rush (9.2)
- Nintendogs: Labrador and Friends (8.6)
- Kirby: Canvas Curse (9.2)
- Tetris DS (9.4)
- The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass [Q4 2006]
- New Super Mario Bros. [US Release Out]
- PointBlank DS [Q2 2006]
- Elite Beat Agents [TBA]
I bolded Elite Beat Agents for one reason. It's the funniest, most ingenious game for the DS. It's called "Ossu! Tatake! Ouendan" (押忍!闘え!応援団) in Japan and was released in 2005. It's about these 3 guys who save the world by dancing to the rhythms of various songs. Sounds silly, that's what makes it so funny. It's kinda like Dance Dance Revolution, but you use the stylus to tap and trace the beats as they pop up in numbers on screen. The Touch screens covers the dancing while the top screen shows the storyline as you progress. The game's getting an overhaul for the US market and after seeing the screenshots and the videos, I love it already.
Kar-bankooer-jeg!
Feeling Much...much better today. Feeling happier after I got the Locoroco™ Blob's rendition of the Happiest song on Earth (Get it from http://www.videocrab.com/locoroco/).
St. Marking Day.

Official Breakfast of FIFA. (What?!)
-746012.jpg)
Watch for the Seal of Authenticity!
I thought I saw all kinds of breakfast cereals before until I chanced upon these at Carrefour yesterday night. Yep, the photo's not fakin'. These are boxes of the "Official Breakfast Cereal of FIFA", I mean the bloody things have these Holographic stickers that proves it's Authenticity (so that you know you aren't eating styrofoam) on EVERY BOX! What make's it special/different? The Sugary-toasted Rice balls will morph into Soccer-ball shapes if you douse milk all over them. So yea, it's Sugar. Pure Sugar. What better way to start your day. Imagine David Beckham or Ronaldo eating this every single day during FIFA 2006. Feel the Passion!
Da(rn) Vinci Code
Goody. The DVC has been etched into an NC16 rating so people who will believe anything under the age of 16 can't watch it. Which would be redundant since the papers posted how teens can get away easy with watching M18 and R21 flicks. There's a handy, easy excuse guide for you guys too...
Much controversy to this, I'm gonna have my say: If you're gonna watch this movie, go ahead. If you're gonna BELIEVE this movie, go ta hell. This has F-I-C-T-I-O-N written all over it, end of Story.
Down with some flu thing, again. Exams end tomorrow. Hurrah!

Hopeless Joke #12
Folks, I went through and redid Hopeless Optimism #12.

Updated #12, left. Previous #12, right.
I did the previous one, but Dan didn't get it. Many of you Folks probably didn't get it either.
Perhaps even some of No Doubt's fans didn't get it at all.
It was for the best. Enjoy.

Happy Borthday, Dan!

Yes! It's Dan's Birthday! He's Reality 18! But He's still 17 in the Strip!
Don't confuse reality with Virtuality!
I really wanted to put "Hell" instead of "Heck", but whatever.
Happy Birthday, Dan!

Me So Possible, Tree.
Before I start, I want you guys to give a big hand to Mission: Impossible 3. They've done a great Job people. C'mon.
MissPossThree is the best action blockbuster this summer. I don't think X3 can beat this. Sorry. I love the movie, I mean, really, REALLY love the movie. I have no idea why.
Maybe it's the scene where the bridge gets blown up. If it's the same bridge, this would be the second time the bridge gets blown up. The Bridge is familiar in Arnold Schwarzenegger's "True Lies" where it too gets attacked. Or Maybe it's the part where Tom Cruise infiltrates the building where Agent Ferris was put in to be rescued. Or, how about the exciting jump from the Bank of China building? It's all good. That movie's good. Watch it!!
By the way, I think I already said it, but my M:I-3 review is out.
Everyone's a Critic. I'm a FlicCritic.
Made a few adjustments to the site. For one, the New FlicCritic site is up. I got my MissPossThree review in there. Man, that movie was AWESOME. Go watch it, it's worth the ticket. Piracy won't cut it.
The hOP page has a slight revamp. You'll notice all the strip numbers are gone. Do you know how complicated and tedious it is to update 3 pages just to have one new comic put up? So the new system makes me do less typing. The Strip Viewer is Up, everything is organised. Appreciate it.
Might be back later. Just here to give the updates.

Time for a Breather...
Checked my Watch, yes, so I am 6464 days old...intriguing.
It's the time for that break after Round 2. Examinations Time-out. Feelin good. I hope I'm doing well, I think I am, because it feels like some government conspiracy, you know? You don't really know. AMaths was like...some...movie... whichIforgotthetitle. The Last 20 minutes was Panic. Had to draw some stupid graph. Stupid Graph became curved. Question want Straight-lined graph. Reread question, crushed graph, redrew. Sweaty Palms, people. 'nuff said.
Some of you are probably wondering I have Snake here saying, "It's Show Time!". Unless you don't already know, there will be a Super Smash Bros. title for the Wii called "Brawl" (er... it's Super Smash Bros Brawl). Somehow, Nintendo placed Snake in. That will be cool. But the Wii, like the PS3 will only be but a dream. I don't really want it that bad, there's the Sonic and Mario and Zelda titles, but I don't need it, see? Same goes for the PS3. There's a (brilliant, awesome) Sonic title for it and the Upcoming Metal Gear Solid 4(: Guns of the Patriots), but I don't need it! I and my DS are fine.and Confirmed: Whitey's name is Silver the Hedgehog. Well, duh?!
Damn... Just look at this. It's so...so...BEAUTIFUL.... *o* (Must tell 'self...Not... Real... NOT REAL!!)
WAH!! Why didn't I go to E3?! WHY?! Why? Maybe because I got a life to run...damn.
MissPossThree Tonight...

Day6463The feeling of soft new keys. My Sis is selling her iMac after 4 years of service. It's that one where it can stick out it's disk drive at you. So now we're only having 2 macs in the house. I have no idea who bought it because the buyer is like, late!
The Entertainment Electronics Expo, (or is it Electronics Entertainment Expo...whatever) oficially opens later tonight, considering opening of doors is at 8am PDT. Much after the Awe and gawk of the PS3 and the Wii during the Sony and Nintendo Press Conferences (Microsoft released their 360 last year so the hype is much gone).
These 2 consoles (one cool, one unique), I can't say, too damn good. But they might be too damned expensive. PS3 announced it's price at upwards of $499 (20GB). The Wii promises to be "affordable gaming for all".But the much awaited titles are hard to resist with their cool. cool graphics. Sonic NextGen and Sonic WildFire are already slated for November and 2007 respectively (links on my sidebar) and not forgetting Sonic Rivals for the PSP (link also on sidebar). Sorry, I'm very Sonic here, although it's worth a reminder to DS playas to get the NSMB game due on Monday!
Oh, and Although I really don't really say this very often now, hOP #35 is out, and It's my first full-frontal strip (no dirty pun intended).
After tomorrow, I'll only have 4 papers to take. Tomorrow, it's Mission Impossible 3. I might review it, but I might be too engrossed in Tom Cruise's third Impossible Helping, to remember to do that.

Strictly Games.
Day6460The Entertainment Electronics Expo, E³, commences this week. Huge announcements are expected there. Sony's PS3, Nintendo's Wii and cool new games that lies ahead in the months to come, namely interested in "The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass", "Sonic Rivals", "Sonic the Hedgehog (Next-Gen)" and many brilliants which I've forgotten about at this time.
I'm not going there, so why am I posting this? I dunno, I just wanted a reason to put this cool image of Sonic for the Next Generation Consoles!! w00t!
Chapter 218 - Section 49: Subsection 7A, Paragraph A.
"PARLIAMENTARY ELECTIONS ACT - Counting Votes - 49.
(7A) Where more than one counting place is specified for an electoral division in a direction made under section 48A (1), an Assistant Returning Officer shall, immediately after the counting of votes cast in Singapore is completed at the counting place under his charge and, if a recount thereof is allowed under section 49B, after the recount is completed, at each counting place for the electoral division —
(a) announce to the candidates or their counting agents as attend the number of votes given to each candidate or group of candidates;" 1
That was fun. I never did see an election count result telecast before. PAP wins again.

End of English Paper...
There's Nothing I hate more than an English Paper Two where I have to Answer in my own words. I don't wanna answer in my own words! It's a real pain if you have to paraphrase all the time...
Flexus: My Cheapskate Comfort Stylus
I'm cheap. I mean I did take time off to make my own iPod Dock, and saved me some space on my 50mb domain. Now, I've done it again. I've recreated a Comfort Stylus for use on my touch screen devices using a Pilot Shaker Pencil Spring and a wire with it's tip bent for non-scratching capabilities. Day6457 Never Again for a Thousand Years...
End of Chinese Paper...
I was really thinking how the class was gonna do the exams without a proper clock hanging on the wall (which was incidentally faulty and then taken apart by Hari and me...). So having a timepiece with the "accuratest" school time within close range of the teacher's table, I was taken to be the Watch boy. Don't anyone in the class care about the missing clock?!
We had a couple of frogs in the class as well, courtesy of Regu. You know, those small frogs that people use to feed fish? That's exactly what we did. Immediately after school, he dunked the entire stash of about 20 frogs into the koi pond. Don't friggin' ask me about the fish. All I know was that 3 frogs were eaten by the resident Tortoise, which were trying to escape from the pond. Nothing else better than Nature.
Tomorrow's the English paper...I kinda like the whole Chinese first then English later concept this mid-years...
